A Supernatural Life

A supernatural life requires some important attributes that can change the lives of

people and create a future and a hope. “Without faith it is impossible to please God!”

Faith is one of the attributes required.

Likewise, “God is holy, without holiness no one will see the Lord.” This purity of spirit is yet another one of these critical attributes.

Spiritual purity is required.

Lastly, “If you seek me with all your heart, surly you will be found by Me.” Our God is searching for those who want to know Him! Those who are willing to sacri ce literally “their all” and pursue Him with all their heart. “For God is a rewarder for those that diligently seek Him.”

Pursuing the Lord, with “all our heart” is required.

As you continue to read this story, please allow me to pray with you this simple prayer. “Lord, (we) pray that as (we) open our heart to you, that (we) will begin to believe by faith for a supernatural life that pursues you, and in doing so, (we) will supernaturally help change lives, create futures and offer hope to those you send to us! (We) pray this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen!”

The Supernatural Prayer

As a twenty-one-year-old young man, I attended bible college and set out to seek a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as my number one priority. Not girls, not things, but to know God. I reasoned that if God could supernaturally use me, that God could use anybody. In fasting and prayer, I prayed a speci c and simple prayer as I said these words. “God use me. Supernaturally use me. Not in my power but in your power!” After five or six weeks had passed of hour after hour of prayer, God, by the power of the Holy Spirit demonstrated His power.

The Holy Spirit overpowered me to the point of unexpected retrieval. I prayed, “ God this is too much, I cannot bear it, please take it from me, it’s too heavy, it’s too great,” as the presence of the Holy Spirit nally lifted. Now, God had my full attention as I stood in the student body auditorium of 500 students, the Holy Spirit directed my attention to a young man at the back of the auditorium. My spirit was screaming inside of me, “Go to him now.”

I knew that I had to approached him, as I walked towards the rear of the building it was obvious that this was a military man in his twenties sitting in the back row. Fit, short hair, stern and without emotion. I greeted him and asked if he had ever accepted Christ as his personal savior? The man quickly said, no! I asked him, “Would you like to accept Christ as your personal savior and Lord?” Without any hesitation, the man quickly said, yes! Once he was led through a personal salvation prayer, the man was genuinely broken before God, there was a complete change in his demeanor, yet the miracle was just beginning.

The Supernatural Power of God

The young military man named Mitch was using the back of his hand to wipe his eyes as he apologized for his emotion. I said, “Don’t worry about it, this means allot to you, as it should.”

He said, “you don’t understand, tonight was my last night.” I said, what do you mean, tonight was your last night? He continued, “my heart was so hard that even if my own Mom were to die, I could, in no way cry or show any emotion. In fact, I was so desperate, with no reason to live that I found myself with my gun to my head.” He said, “Tonight was my last night.”

“Earlier today I said, God, if you’re real, then send someone to me, to ask me to accept you as my Lord and Savior. And if you send someone to me, I will know you are real, and I will accept you as my Lord and Savior. But if you don’t send anyone to me, then I will know that you’re not real, and I will take my life.”

He said, “Tonight was my last night!”

“But as I walked in this building and sat in the back row – God sent you directly to me!”

He began to wipe his eyes and nod his head back and forth as if in awe of God. As I lay my hands on him in celebration of the miracle that had just occurred and prayed a prayer that sealed this union of two of us coming together by the supernatural power of God to heal, restore, set free and prove that our God was real!

This is the God we serve! The supernatural God that demonstrates His power to those who dare to seek Him with all their heart. This story demonstrates that as we seek God with all of our heart, regardless of the reason, He hears us and responds to our needs respectfully.

Notice that while one young man was praying a prayer to God… “God use me!

Supernaturally use me, not in my power, but in your power, so I can see your

supernatural hand upon my life and know that if you can use me, you can use anybody.”

Yet, at the same time, another young man was praying a prayer to God… “God, I am desperate, I have no reason to live, if you are real, then send someone to me! Prove to me that you are real. This will con rm to me that you hear me and that you care about me. And God, if you send someone to me, I will know that you are real, and I will serve you with all my heart!” God is Wanting to Prove Himself Faithful For you and I today, it is this same pattern of supernatural power that God is wanting us to step into by faith.

God is wanting to prove himself faithful.

As we remain faithful to trust God with all our heart regardless of the sacrifce required, He in turn will meet us where we are as proof that He is our God and we are his people. The Lord is just waiting for us.

Let me ask you an important question.

“On a scale of 1-10, 10 being total surrender to God. Where are you?

Do you have areas of your life that you have not fully surrendered over to Him? We need to close every open door or access point to the enemy today. Not tomorrow, but today! It is our responsibility to yield every area of the heart over to God. We must pass the test and come to a place that we can say, “I have completely surrendered all to the foot of the cross.”

I urge you to make a determination today, to spend intimate time with Jesus, getting to know Him as you seek Him with all your heart in the secret place of prayer, being led by the power of the Holy Spirit and by the revelation of His word. Its not enough for us to know the Lord… He must know us!
